North Carolina is an open-access state meaning a prescription for lactation or occupational therapy services is not needed. *3rd party payers (ie. insurance plans) may require a referral for reimbursement purposes.

Great news! If your baby is receiving any of your breastmilk (or that is your goal), our lactation services and feeding therapy may be covered 100% by your insurance.
bwellbaby, LLC is a member of The Lactation Network (TLN). TLN makes it easy for you to navigate your insurance benefits. Once approved (usually within 24-48 hours), you will never receive a bill from TLN or bwellbaby, LLC.

Lactation and breastfeeding services are considered preventive healthcare under the Affordable Care Act and all private health insurance plans must cover the cost of services that support breastfeeding and lactation during pregnancy and after the baby is born.

bwellbaby, LLC an out-of-network provider. That means we (parent and therapist) are able to determine if your child will benefit from my services, how often they are seen, what treatment strategies to use, and the duration of treatment without interference from insurance providers.
We accept all major credit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards.
As a courtesy, superbills are provided for potential out-of-network reimbursement from your health insurance plan.
Unlike other providers and doctors you may have worked with in the past, we provide you with full transparency of our fees so there’s never a surprise.
